The rumours seem to have turned out to be true for this one. Between teaser videos and “leaks”, some sort of two-tone Oyster Perpetual was destined to be released at Watches and Wonders 2026. The slate sunray dial features 18k gold applied baton indices and 18k gold stick hands, all with Chromalight applied. The crown features the number 100 below the Rolex crown logo, and “100 Years” takes the place of “Swiss Made” at the bottom of the dial. Two-tone OPs were available up until the early 2000’s, but those were in the 34mm size. Vintage enthusiasts will know that there were a plethora of Datejusts, Oyster Perpetuals, and bubble back models in all sorts of mixtures of steel and gold. Again, this is the first time Rolex has released a two-tone Oyster Perpetual in a larger size, including a 41mm model at that. It is also noteworthy that only the crown and bezel are in 18k yellow gold. Modern buy Rolex clone watches that are two-tone have included precious metals in the centre links, but this model keeps the entirely brushed Oyster bracelet in steel. This undoubtedly keeps the price reasonable at retail, at least by Rolex standards, and feels like a fun hat-tip to vintage Oyster case models from the mid-20th century.
